Toyota in Canada Contributes Toward Aid of Alberta Fires

Toyota Canada Inc. and Toyota Financial Services donate $100,000 to Canadian Red Cross

TORONTO, ON., (May 6, 2016) – In efforts to aid communities affected by the Alberta Fires, Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) and Toyota Financial Services (TFS) today committed $100,000 in support of relief efforts in the province by the Canadian Red Cross.

In a press release issued today, Larry Hutchinson, President and CEO of TCI, said: “When communities at home are in a time of need, it’s important for all of us to come together and lend a helping hand. Our hearts go out to all those individuals, their communities and businesses affected by the disaster in Alberta this week.”

“We are extending our support through the Canadian Red Cross as they assist the families and businesses affected by the wild fires in Alberta,” added Larry Baldesarra, President of Toyota Financial Services. “We commend the huge efforts of Albertans and Canadians who have demonstrated generosity and compassion to those in need at this difficult time.”

The funds will be used by the Canadian Red Cross, which is actively responding across Alberta to ensure that immediate needs are being met following massive wildfires that have triggered the largest fire-related evacuation in Alberta. Effects have been disastrous for numerous communities, with thousands of people forced to evacuate.

Canadians wishing to help are encouraged to make a financial donation to the Alberta Fires Appeal online at www.redcross.ca/albertafires, by calling 1-800-418-1111 or by contacting their local Canadian Red Cross office. For more information, visit www.redcross.ca.
